December 11, 2010

Well, it's been almost a year, but I AM BACK UPDATING. Not a whole lot going on, but I'll quickly wrap up what's been up for the past year. 2nd semester of Junior year came and went, there were no super-duper amazing track meets (it wasn't my best season ever...) but I'll have some videos of them on my YouTube page, plus the boomdeyada from Camp Wildwood 2010! Now I've started senior year, and 1st semester is almost over. It has been great, I had a lot of awesome classes and a lot of time to hang out with friends. I even joined the RPG club (haha epic nerdiness). I've applied to 5 colleges so far: University of the Pacific (my first choice), CalPoly San Luis Obispo, Santa Clara University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Nevada Reno. Of those 5, I've already been accepted into Pacific and Northern Arizona! I still have yet to make a final decision, though...So in two weeks I'll be taking finals and I'll be a second semester senior. Where does the time go?

You probably know that I'm taking Computer Science AP this year, and I'm absolutely nuts about programming. In class we make a lot of games, and we've learned how to put them into webpages. Click here to play some of them.

Happy New Year's Eve, and a late Merry Christmas everyone!

There's not a lot going on here. Christmas was pretty fun, though we had a ton of people over. I got some new games, some D&D stuff (including a Wheel of Time D&D guide from TJ!), a few good old movies (Johnny Dangerously, The Godfather, Singin' in the Rain). Some pretty good stuff! Not much else happening. So, happy last day of 2009, see you next year!

November 19, 2009

I have returned! Not much exciting has been happening with me, mostly just the same old stuff, but a few weeks ago TJ found a feature on his camera, I'm sure you've read about it on his site, and we took some very interesting pictures. I'll put them up next time I'm on my laptop.

And there's another thing! I've been using my desktop computer alot more recently, especially because it's so quiet back in my room, and I'm really starting to get everything set up to my my strange little quirks XD. I've even started a new project on it: I'm going to use this computer as a server for a couple of things: Half-Life 2 servers if needed, and an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) server. Basically it's like group IM-ing, just slightly different. I'll post the link here once it's up if anyone is interested. I'm crazy excited to say: my computer is now a server! IRC (Internet Relay Chat). You need an IRC client, though. Google it to find one.

Also, speaking of Half-Life, today is Half-Life's birthday!

11 years ago Half-Life was first released (yeah, that's right: came out in 1998), and since then it's only become more popular. There's a group of programmers who are completely remaking HL with the most modern graphics available, and they say they'll be releasing some time soon! The project is called Black Mesa, and I can't wait until they release it. Hopefully it'll be near vacation, otherwise...heheheh.

And one last thing before I go...
UPDATE YOUR SITES ALREADY GUYS!!

October 13, 2009

There's been quite a few things happening these past few weeks - time for another update! So, a few weeks ago, my Ethics teacher showed my class the new way to enter in Christian Service Hours (we need to do 25 hours of community service each year or you can't enroll for next year). The Campus Ministry tech guys made an online database, but it's still in the beta version for the most part. My teacher was talking about some things they'd like to have in it, and said something like, "Well, we'll probably have it worked out sometime in the next 3 or 4 years. Unless one of you is super-smart with computers or something..." and at that moment, the idea clicked into my mind. I could work with them!

So after school I went and said that I'm a programmer and would love to help out with their database, and my teacher got so excited! She told me all about who to talk with and what we could do, and arranged an appointment between me and Mr. Scott, the tech guy from Campus Ministry. So I went to talk with him, and he seemed really happy to have someone to talk with! He gave me a few assignments to work on, one of which is testing out their Christian Service site. The other was to help the priest, Father Russi, learn how to use a Mac every Monday morning! So...I get to tutor Mitty's priest! He's a nice guy though, and it was sorta fun teaching him. Afterwards I showed Mr. Scott and his boss some of the problems I had found, and they were way happy with me. When I was showing the head of Campus Ministry, Mr. K, he said I was an "honorary Mitty staff member"! So now I'm an honorary staff member working for Mitty...in the religious department!!! Geez, some things sure turn out funny...

Thanks to TJ's friend Paul, I have a new computer! It's a pretty nice one, though the origins are...*cough* never mind *cough*. Anyways...TJ got Windows XP loaded onto it and brought it over last Thursday. But without a monitor. So my dad let me borrow this little touchscreen thingy, and I hooked it up and it worked fine...except that it was about the size of my hand. But I did manage to get a giant old-school monitor that works very nicely. I even got my room cleaned out, and my bookcase is actually a bookcase now!

And TJ and my dad and I grabbed an old desk from up in storage and got it down to hold my computer. Not quite big enough for that giant monitor...but it works.

So here's a few close-ups of the cpu and monitor.

Also, in light of Kenneth Gamble passing away, I'd like to say that he was a great person, and he will be missed greatly. R.I.P.

September 8, 2009

Hello everyone, long time no update! Well to start, I've been in school for a few weeks now. I'm fairly happy with my classes, except the band director put me in Concert Band, with the freshmen! I'm a junior in a freshman band!! I swear I'm gonna tell him off next time I see him...Needless to say I was ready to kill after I found out. But anyways...my schedule is pretty nice this year. 1st period off (so I go to school at 9:30 on some days!), then Algebra 2, Chinese 3, and American Literature, then Ethics, band, US History, and finally Chemistry.

I've also started training for track again last week. It's only on mondays and wednesdays at the Rose Garden, for now. The workout isn't too awfully hard: run 500 meters in about 2 minutes 4 times, with a break of 3 minutes or so in between. But yesterday...it got bad. I had to run 10 200m sprints, with a 1 minute break. Doesn't sound that hard? Try doing them in 40 seconds or less each time. I was dead tired after that...

Monday was also the day that I got to see some friends from middle school. Two of my friends had organized a "middle school reunion" at a local park, so we went and hung out for the day. After a few hours, a couple of the people started up a water fight. I was just watching and laughing at first, but then ONE of them poured a 5 gallon bucket of water on me. That meant war. Then one girl who had decided that she had it in for me put soap in the water. Soap tastes nasty, and feels awful in your eyes...But I got my revenge...
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Well, some not-so-good news. Last night while my mom was getting Koda his food, she slipped on one of his tennis balls and fell down the step in the kitchen/family room. It seemed that she just sprained her ankle though, fortunately. We have a pair of crutches from the Cavanaugh's stuff, so now she's able to get around. However Koda, being the scaredy-dog he is, is freaked out by them, and that my mom is apparently injured. All last night, he'd be following her around, I guess making sure that she's okay. He's a really funny dog sometimes. Anyways, this morning she decided to go to Urgent Care, and my dad drove over with her. So luckily it's not broken, just sprained, and she's been sitting in the reclining chair all day getting me or my dad to do things like getting water or Advil or stuff. She's doing much better now, though, so all's good.

Disney Trip

So much has happened--I put everything right here. It's finally finished now! Aah, so many stories to tell...

Aww, the end of Camp Wildwood 2009...Today was the first full day of not being at Wildwood. *Sigh* I miss it so much. And once again, a big shoutout to uncle TJ, grandma, grandpa, and everyone else helping out with Camp Wildwood. Especially TJ for having to put up with all of us! Thanks a ton! And for TJ's suggestion about a top 10 list for Camp Wildwood, here goes:

10: NOT sleeping on the floor!
9: Working on puzzles.
8: Laying in the hammock and reading.
7: Watching scary movies.
6: Archery.
5: Shooting water balloons (and hunting for BB's!)
4: Going on hikes, especially places I haven't been before (like the Pump Trail).
3: Hide-And-Seek at night.
2: TJ's treasure hunts.
1: Getting to see family and hanging out with them for a whole week!
0: FOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!

Today at 11, my dad, Jess, and I went to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It was actually pretty good. I don't remember very well what happened in the book, and I know I didn't read book 7, but now I'm considering picking those up again.

July 2, 2009

Well, I've finally finished driving lessons! Yay...just 6 months, then I can get an actual driver's license. Still not super-thrilled with driving, but I guess that's just how I am. Anyways, I get my dad's old Honda Accord. It's been around for what seems like forever, but it was getting pretty neglected after my dad got a new car. Just sitting around getting dust and dirt, and sometimes people would come up and make an offer for it. But Grammy's friend Russell got the car all fixed up and everything working again for me! It's a really good car, despite it being old. Here are some pictures of it after being washed:

Also, I've been learning more programming over the summer, and I actually managed to finish one of my big projects! It was made for my Dungeons & Dragons group, also including Jessica, Alex, and Cailey. Basically, what it has is a window that shows all the custom monsters we've created, a window for our custom items, a dice roller from 1 to 99, a notepad and calculator, and some links to a good D&D site (d20forge.com) and our own site. Plus a random video just for fun =D There's also 2 text files containing the monster and weapon info, and if you put in a jpg file with the monster or weapon name, it'll show up in the program! Neat, huh? Next to work on: ebay. >=D That's right TJ!

If you really want, you can download the program here.

I finished my first two hours of driver's training today! I'm so excited! Not because I got to drive, but because I'm almost done! Today, I also found out: I DON'T like driving. It's not fun or exciting, it's jus too much effort and tiny little actions for my taste. I just don't see how on earth people could enjoy driving, or even want to...
*shudders*

June 17, 2009

I got my driver's permit today! Woohoo...only a whole year late. Today I'm 16 1/2. Well, better late than never.

June 16, 2009

After a long time of just sitting around, watching TV, reading, and playing on my computer, I actually did something useful today. My mom and I went to work at a place called Sacred Heart Community Service. Before you ask, NO I'm NOT in trouble with the law. Because I know you were thinking that...Anyways, in order to graduate, I need to do 25 hours of community service, either during the summer or the year. This year I'm just getting started early. So we went there, from 8:00 to 11:00, sorting carrots. I'm sick of carrots now. But we were probably the most efficient team; we were getting those bags of carrots out really fast. So, that's about all I've done recently. I've gone to see a few movies, I've learned how to make maps in Half-Life 2, I've read almost an entire book, and I've almost finished two programs I've been working on...including the FTP host for our sites, so I might post them sometime soon.

I've been wanting to learn how to make maps for Half-Life 2 ever since I've been playing it, pretty much. But I never really had the time to learn all the techniques and terms and such. Well, since I had nothing better to do this summer, I decided I would finally learn. So I read up on a few tutorials, and eventually I understood enough to actually go ahead and make a map. I'm making a Deathmatch map, but it doesn't have a name yet. These are some screenshots of the debug version.

Wow, so much has happened, and I haven't even had enough time to write about it...Well, here goes.

On Thursday, the 21st, Fleetwood Mac was in town! They're my favorite band ever, and I really wanted to see them in concert. Fortunately, my dad managed to get tickets for some pretty good seats, although we weren't very close. Even still it was really exciting! I've been to a few other concerts, but I've never been so excited to be at a concert before! =D

Saturday we started having a garage sale for all the junk our friends who are moving, Gail, Cailey, and Alex, decided to sell. There's a LOT of stuff, so my mom and Gail wanted to get to work organizing and pricing everything, they didn't intend to actually start selling. However, within a few minutes of them putting stuff out we had a horde of people coming by, which lasted on and off for a few hours. All in all, we made about $335. Without even trying. Ohh the irony XD

This week has been finals for me. Day 1: World history and English; Day 2: Religion (ugh) and Geometry, and today was Mandarin and Biology. History was probably the only one I know I did well on, hopefully I did okay on the others...But anyways, now that finals are over...

I'M OUT FOR SUMMER! NO MORE SCHOOL, NO MORE BEING A SOPHOMORE FOR ME!!! =DDD

Also, I've decided to give myself a task over the summer. Maybe you've seen it in the cboxes, but I am going to make a Sure Is Fun At Wildwood computer game. I have the resources, and I'll probably make and release a few test games on here before it's all done, but I will make it. And I remember TJ talking about one day wanting to make a Wildwood board game...so this can be related to that somehow I guess. Anyways, email me with some ideas, any ideas at all, or post on the cbox. And again for those who don't believe I'll finish it: I won't without suggestions.

May 16, 2009

On Thursday, we had the WCAL (West Catholic Athletic League) Trials, another track meet. It wasn't too exciting, except 1 thing in the 300: One of the freshmen (one who hasn't been very good all season) actually managed to get ahead of me for the first 200 meters! After the race my senior friend Jude and I were saying "Dude! That was crazy, he almost got first place =O" It was pretty exciting, especially for him I think, because he hasn't done well until now, and he really did well. I also got a personal best in that race: 43.8!

Today, we had the WCAL Finals. Again, I did the 65 and 300...I got 3rd place, mainly because the two guys who beat me were freakin' BEASTS that were like, 6 ft. tall and uber-muscular. It was sort of scaring running next to them (and one even whacked me in the head during the race >=O Jerk.)

Oh well, 3rd isn't bad, and it's the 300 I was looking forward too. The only reason I was excited about the 65 was because that's the last one I'll ever run in my life! I hate that race >_< So, remember Thursday's time of 43.8? New best! 43.33!! Almost half a second gone!! Half a second is a lot in a race, by the way. I felt like I was on fire afterwards, 'cause today was HOT!

So I got 2nd place and a new best time, and I don't have to do the stupid 65's anymore! Good day.

Unfortunatly, it wasn't so great all around. Most of my friends in track are the seniors, who are going to be leaving soon =( This was probably one of the last times I'll see them, and that's more than a little depressing...until they come back and visit, of course. And then next year, I'll be captain of the entire hurdle team, including one girl we've (appropriately) nicknamed "Whiny Courtney". She whines, about everything: she doesn't want to run, she doesn't want to warm up, she got second place OMG THE WORLD IS OVER, etc. Oh boy! But it'll hopefully be pretty fun. Plus I'll be a junior next year >=D

I'm adding a new sidepanel for random track pics. I have too many I wanna post here. Also, next week I'll do an update on my new sword ^_^

May 9, 2009

Today I had hurdle practice again with one of the coaches at San Jose City College. Our hurdle team has been seeing him for a few weeks, and he's a really good coach. So, while we were going over hurdles, I made a but of a mistake. My steps were off, and I took one extra step, which put me literally a few inches in front of the hurdle. I was going to bail out at that point, like by jumping over it and knocking it down, but that idea didn't work out so well. Basically, my foot got caught underneath the hurdle, and my trail leg whacked into it, making me fall forwards. Normally you'd just fall on your hands and be fine. I, however, had so much forward momentum that I wound up hitting my head, bouncing a few times on my right shoulder, and skidding for a few feet. It hurt, BADLY.

I couldn't see anything, and I really freaked out then, since I couldn't even stand up straight. I sort of remembered everyone screaming when I fell, but it was vague. My coach ran off to get some ice, and the three girls that were there came over and were talking with me to make sure I was okay and stuff. Anyways, they were really nice to me. Then Courtney, one of the girls on the team, came over and lifted up my hair and saw that I had a big bump on my head. She kind of freaked out then, and followed me around to make sure I didn't accidentally hurt myself worse. Later on I was talking with one of the seniors that I'm friends with, and he said "That was the scariest thing ever. But after I found out you weren't hurt that bad I laughed so hard!" I kinda wish someone had it on video; it was a pretty awesome fall! =D
I'm okay now though.

May 7, 2009

It's almost tomorrow...late at night...I have to stay up to do an essay...but I can't concentrate on that.
I've been playing Left 4 Dead (a really fun, really scary computer game about the zombie apocalypse) for the past few hours... Now it's dark out, only one light in the house on...and I keep looking over my shoulder for the zombies. That game is almost too scary for me *shudders*. Seriously, I went to my room (with a flashlight in hand) to get my swords to protect myself, just in case one of those zombies jump through the window...Geez, this game is really scary. At least at night. I'm half-considering hiding in my room with a flashlight and sword until I fall asleep...and I sound crazy now. But it's something to talk about, so talk.

April 25, 2009

Yesterday, I had another track meet, the CCS Top 8. CCS is the entire league in this part of California, and the meet is one of the most important and prestigious there is. I qualified for the 65m and 300m hurdles, so I got to wait from 4:15 when I got there until nearly 8 to finish my races...it got really cold by then. Anyways, the freshman that beat me had also qualified, so we were warming up with one of the varsity guys and were joking about how Tate (the freshman) and I would get 1st and 2nd, and I said he'd probably beat me again as a joke. Right before it, I messed up on a practice run and banged up my leg pretty bad, but surprisingly it didn't hurt when I ran. So we got to running, and I messed up on the first hurdle again! I got a personal best, 9.77, but Tate BEAT ME AGAIN! He got 9.57, and I think he broke Mitty's 65 record. Arg, freshmen suck. But I ran the 300 by myself, and got 5th place with a time of 44.76, definitely one of my better ones. My coach said I did good that meet, but we've still got alot to work on >_< Great.

Also, today we had a band competition at 7:30 in the morning. It was pretty fun and we didn't totally fail (I think we got an average score) and did a sight-reading piece. I hate sight-reading, and we'd never done it in class before, but we actually did pretty well. I think it's because it was such an easy piece. Then we took a few pictures as a group, and for one we convinced out teacher to get in, and he had to actually lay on top of the other flute players! It was hilarious, because he was like, "Are you sure? Absolutely sure? I'm not that light..." And so we had a pretty good time.

Also, I've been re-reading a few books lately, and I just have to say,
DAVID EDDINGS IS AMAZING.

April 18, 2009

So the other day Uncle TJ took Jessica and I up to Wildwood for the weekend. Unfortunately, Lauren and Jenn couldn't make it up, but then we'll just have to wait for Camp Wildwood over the summer.

We've been doing lots of stuff up here, but here's the jist of it: (and the end of me teasing my cousins ;))
Yesterday, we didn't do a whole lot after getting there. One of the things I absolutely had to do was archery. I mean, how can you pass that up?! Here's a video of one round.

This morning, we played a few games, one of which was Qwirkle

During some recent windstorms, there were a few branches that fell, and Jess and I helped Grandma and Grandpa and TJ clear them out and cut 'em up. With a chainsaw.

And probably the best part of the day, I got to use a blowtorch. Basically a flamethrower >=D Grandpa recruited me to clear out a few little plants growing around the trees, and the best way to do that is by burning them out. Honestly, it was really scary at first (I mean, you're shooting out flames right next to your feet), but after a while, it got to be a lot of fun! Probably too much fun for a sane person, but nobody ever accused me of being sane.

April 15, 2009

YAY FOR SPRING BREAK!! Ah, it's incredibly nice to not have to worry about school. Most of the break, I've been doing absolutely nothing but sitting in front of my computer or a book. My reading skills are starting to rival TJ's, I can finish a book in just about 3 days, that's how much time I've got. And I've spent a lot of time working on a project for making an FTP program specifically for these sites! I don't know why I started it, I think I was just bored, but it certainly is fun! When I finish, I'll upload it for people to use if they want.

Though I have lots of time for relaxing, I do have track practice everyday at 9 or 10 in the morning...and these are the "hard workouts". Basically, run until you're about to throw up, take a break, and keep on running. OUCH. But hurdles are still fun, and I'm expecting make some pretty epic wins in the regional top 8 =) So yeah, nothin' too terribly exciting, but that's what's going on for me.

I've also been thinking about starting up a new section on my site (sort of like TJ's books section) but for some creative writing I might do...Yes, I'm very bored. Bored enough to possibly start writing again. So yeah, gimme some thoughts on that!!
Oh yes, and=/= (DOES NOT EQUAL)

You're welcome, Lauren.

April 10, 2009

SPRING BREAK IS HERE!! YES! FINALLY!!!!

April 8, 2009

Well, so much has happened recently, I figured I should update in the middle of the week. Which I'm doing =)

So, on Monday at track practice, we were doing hurdle drills. On my second runthrough, I made a little mistake...My foot caught on the third hurdle, and I lost my balance. I tried to stand up again, but my momentum caused me to fall even harder. So I scraped up my entire right side, cut the inside of my left arm, and bruised my legs pretty bad...Then when I looked back, there was a big white streak where I had fallen. Ouch >.< But despite my injuries (which still really hurt!) I got 1st in the 300m hurdles today, and 2nd in the 65...I LOST TO A FRESHMAN. THAT WAS NOT FUN.

Ever since I started really searching for good video games, I've found one that always seems to be the best: Kingdom Hearts. Said to be one of the best RPG's ever created, and it even has Disney characters in it! How could I not play it? Unfortunately, it was only released on the PS2, and I only have a Gamecube and Wii, so I thought I'd never have the opportunity...which was really sad. But then I found an emulator and ISO for the game about 2 years ago, and just last weekend I managed to get it working! I was so excited!
Only problem is, I don't know the controller configuration, and I have to kill every process on my computer except the OS. And then I have to use DOS to navigate and do things. Not so great -_- But at least I've got it working!

April 3, 2009

Well, here's something new: I was poking around some old bookmarks when I came across an online game for the Belgariad (one of my favorite books) that I could never get running. So I opened it up, and found out that to use it, I need something to open a 'Telnet protocol'. I had no clue what a Telnet protocol was, so I googled it. Then I found an MS-DOS command line application, and started to research those. Microsoft has got some pretty neat stuff in there, and I decided to write about it.

Wow, it seems like all I ever talk about here is track...and here's some more about it!

Today there was another meet! It was at Los Gatos High School, and it was one of those really important ones with tons of schools again. This time, it was a qualifying meet for getting into the CCS Top 8 (CCS is our regional league). Only the people with the 8 fastest times make it through. So naturally, I ran the 65m and 300m hurdles. In the 65's, I got 2nd place! Overall! (click for a picture of my medal) I would've gotten 1st, but I led with my left leg instead of my right, and that slowed me down a bit...my time was pretty good, 9.96 I believe. Not my fastest, but pretty close.

The 300's were so insanely epic! I was in 3rd the entire race, and on the last hurdle the first guy tripped, and that screwed up the second guy. I was like, "YES I can actually win!" So I sped up and managed to take FIRST! Although I came in 6th or 7th overall... but it was so amazing =D Here's my video:

Also, while I was warming up for the 65, I saw an old friend from middle school who goes to Prospect that I haven't seen since last summer! She yelled to me, "Hey Matthew!" and started waving, and I was like who on earth is that? And then I realized it was her and so we talked until my race, and then afterwards we hung out with some other old friends at Prospect. Ahh, it was really nice to see some old friends again...so yeah, it was pretty awesome, and I was happy about how things went =)

April 2, 2009

Today my school had a monthly assembly, where the principal mentions who's doing well in sports and academics and such. Of course, getting your name called is a pretty big honor, 'cause then everyone knows who you are, and how good you are. Unfortunately, though, track people are not often called because our events are rather short, and our head coach apparently doesn't talk with anyone...but today he said, "Sophomore...Matthew Fredrickson, please stand up." I was like, "WOW!! This is awesome!" And he goes on saying, "Congratulations on winning 1st place in K-Bell in the 65m hurdles." All my friends from track (especially the hurdle team) were yelling stuff like "All right Switchy!!" (By the way, my track nickname is 'Switchy' because I switch legs going over hurdles). It was really exciting, and I became like a star for today... People I didn't even know came up to me and said, "Great job on the hurdles Matt, that's awesome!" And I was just like, "Umm, okay, thanks..." So that was my fun for the day!

March 20, 2009

Today was a meet called the West Valley Relays, and it's an invitational for the entire CCS league, so we were running against alot of schools we wouldn't normally go against. That is pretty exciting right there, but we also got to do something a bit different: remember my 300m hurdles? Well, at WVR they bump it up to 400m, making it way harder, in addition to my standard 65m.

So, we ran the meet at Westmont High School, which is where just about all of my friends go and where I wanted to go. That's also where Sydney goes, so I had emailed her and she said she was going to come out and watch me. I ran the 65, and it was really close. There was a Bellarmine (Mitty's archrivals) guy right behind me, but I managed to pull out first place =D Although a guy in another heat technically beat me, I'd rather say that I won. Then I found Sydney and hung out with her for a while (which was probably the most fun part of my day). So eventually the 400m came around, and I was worried to death about it, 'cuz it's one of the hardest races. But I won first in the heat (again, same guy beat me in the last heat) and got a pretty good time. So I talked to my coach, hung out with Sydney and my friends for a little while longer, and eventually just left. Overall, it was pretty darn exciting!

Here's a video of it:

March 14, 2009

Today I had another track meet, only this one is really important: the K-Bell. Basically, every school in the area sends their best athletes to compete, and it's one of the important ones people look at for league standings. So I ran the 65m hurdles (at 9:12, I had to wake up at 7 to make it on time!! T_T) and the 300m hurdles (at like, 4...so long in between...). I was in the first heat both times, which is where all the fast people are. So, for the 65's, I got 1st place, with my best time of 9.4 seconds!! Out of everyone there, I won 1st! I even got a Jamba Juice gift card and a neat little medal:

For the 300's...not so much. I got 4th overall, which isn't bad, but I didn't break my record, which was sorta disappointing...

Also, I finally got my room a bit cleaner, so I took a picture of my new (or almost new) bookcase that TJ and I built. Here it is, with all my junk on it XD

March 7, 2009

Today at about 10 o'clock I had an invitational track meet. It was a special kind of meet, there were only relays there. So my coach had me run the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles relays. We got 1st in both events, but there's a pretty interesting story on the 300s.

Ok, so for the 300s I was anchoring (last person to run, basically the most important). The lady who told our team when to start told me when I was getting ready, "Oh, your 3rd guy just tripped, hold on a second." I like, freaked out at that point, 'cause it was already close. So I saw another team get out about a second before me. His form was terrible, and I managed to catch up a little bit each hurdle (my form was nearly perfect too). By the time I got to be straightaway at the end, I was sprinting my hardest and beat him by a couple of seconds! I was so happy, but exhausted, and everyone came up to me and was saying "Dude that was awesome! You were great!" even my coach, which made me quite happy =D But I went over and talked with Sydney (my girlfriend, I got her to come) and even she was saying that I was amazing! ^_^

Here's my video of it:

I ran 3rd in the 110m, and last in the 300m. I think I did rather well =D

Just for Jennifer, here's an update: I'm taking down the old page and gonna replace everything. With what, I don't know. Oh, and I'll add in a cbox here some other weekend, too busy today and over the week. And I lack any skill in HTML...so updates will be slow.

Haha, and if you actually wanted a real update, here's a picture from Valentine's Day this year:
